A respected veteran services nonprofit organization faced immense internal organizational challenges, despite its impactful mission and sizable donor base. The organization lacked the necessary strategic vision and internal resources to execute a growth-centric marketing and communications strategy. Members of the Connection Point team were tasked to develop a comprehensive, multichannel integrated marketing and communications strategy that could effectively engage the organization’s existing donor base, drive new donor acquisition, and further elevate their mission.

To increase mass-market awareness and engagement, the team deployed a comprehensive multichannel marketing and communications strategy that prioritized creating compelling branded content to tell impactful stories and boost brand affinity. We leveraged targeted digital advertising, including retargeting and brand awareness campaigns, achieving significant cost efficiencies and high engagement rates.

Our social media efforts were complemented by email marketing campaigns designed to nurture existing donors while simultaneously expanding our database. We also expanded the organization’s reach through earned media efforts by coordinating corporate partnerships. During GivingTuesday, we ran social media fundraising initiatives, including a matching gift campaign, to maximize donations. Additionally, we combined direct mail with digital outreach to achieve a broader campaign impact, all designed to drive online donations, attract corporate sponsorships, and generate increased overall revenue.

By implementing this strategic mix of digital storytelling, targeted advertising, social media engagement, and integrated campaigns, our team substantially increased the organization’s mass-market awareness, the number of engaged donors, and annual revenue while simultaneously driving industry-leading paid media efficiency.
